![]() Great for remoting in and checking on stuff. I just purchased the Lenovo branded version (Lenovo Ideacentre Stick 300) for $99 from Staples about 2 weeks ago and connected it to my 55 inch Television in the living room. I have also added a USB hub and a USB to ethernet connection so I can go wired if I want.) I have an Intel Computestick that I connected to the Television in my Conference rooms for Powerpoint presentations. The Intel stick can be hidden behind the screen and the Dell box can be mounted next to or behind the screen. I have used both in the past and are pretty low cost methods. Thanks guys.Īssuming the monitor has an HDMI port, you can try running the network tool on this Opens a new window or something comparable as Dell makes these as well but they are thin clients. Did find a couple other options outside of Mouse w/o Borders, but will use something along those lines. just network connectivity.Īfter looking at Transparent Lock Screen not doing what I need it to (can only lock all monitors), probably just going to go this route. That said I don't believe Mouse without Borders requires WiFi. This is how I do it - a second desktop with two monitors with network and security monitoring on them and use Synergy to share my laptop keyboard/mouse across those monitors too. ![]() Though still hoping to not have to use a second PC. If "Transparent Lock Screen" doesn't do what I need, this will probably end up being my best option (presented so far). I have seen in 1 article though that it says it can work across Ethernet. The only problem is my main computer doesn't have WiFi capabilities and according to what I've read about Mouse Without Borders, it requires everything to be on WiFi. Still run the software on my computer, but be able to lock my computer and have the main display still show since on a different machine. ![]() The combination of these seems just about perfect. Set it to auto-login & make the RDP session to the remote pc to start at login Wouldn't an RDP session into that computer from the wallmounted box solve the issue? Get an old 2nd hand thin client and mount it behind the screen on the wall and remove the keyboard & mice. I believe that would do exactly what you want. I would recommend a second computer and the use of mouse without borders.
